If Music be the Food of Love...

Can it!

I appreciate that you like music. I appreciate that you have the capacity to put music on your blog. But just don't.

If you must, make the default silence.

Thank you.

  1. Yes indeedy! There are webpages I have fled from because it's faster to hit 'back' then to hit the mute key on my laptop.......
It sounds as though you found one with particularly horrible taste?

That's why the mute button is ALWAYS on on my laptop and my desktop.

  3. Mute is my way of life. My pet peeve is the pages with no capability to stop the music.

  7. I am in full and enthusiastic agreement ... if I want to listen to music during my computer time, there is always a streaming radio station of my own choice.

  8. Standing ovation! I can't count the number of times my Vivaldi has been butchered by a singing blog.

  10. Thank you for saying it out loud! I am often on the computer in the wee hours of the morning and when I blog hop and hit upon a blog with music I can't get out of it fast enough!!!

  11. I leave my PC on mute all the time unless I'm playing something on Pandora radio.

  12. I usually leave the sound off on my desktop, at home and especially at work, just for that reason, LOL!
Thank you for mentioning this "problem" out loud- I thought I was the only one who hated the musical blogs.

Hallelujah!!!! there are stitch blogs with music and then some who not only have to have melodramatic sad music but words to match!! oh my, but you have said it so well fellow "suburban-philly-ite"!!! thank you - i thought i was the only one who detested that jarring moment when it comes up. muting is not always the answer as there are things i need to have the sound on for, to catch my mistakes when i type for instance. thank you for saying this out loud (but without sound!)

I sometimes check blogs at work during my break - which makes those with mustic a problem in cubby land. I have added with music to the blogs I put on my blog list so I know to make sure the mute is on before I read them!

  17. I used to think the same thing, honestly! Then I realized I could adjust or mute it. I do think it reflects a bit of the blogger's current personality - well, at least more than '74 things you didn't know about me.' ;-)

  18. I hate the music AND how long it takes for those blogs to load. Wish I had said this myself!

  19. Amen, sister. I have had music on my blog from time to time, but eventually I came to terms with the fact that 99.9% of the stitching population hates my song selections.
