Edited: Lee did research, folks. The only place this press release appears is on a press release agregator. There's no mention of it on the show website. I was wondering how something that came out in 2006 ends up winning in 2010. But then again, I was wondering how cross-stitchers didn't realize they could just use thread to grid too.
I am speechless......especially about the part about it being a cure for depression and anxiety....

ReplyDeleteI did just go back and read your 8-30-08 post. Trust me, if there were a way to cut stitching time in half on my HAED chart I would be all over it. As it is, I'm probably looking at ten years or more on the silly thing.
ReplyDeleteI can't imaging how this could help since I stitch in 10 x 10 squares then go on the the next 10 x 10. I know a lot of us are counting challenged but I can usually make it to ten. A solution to cutting off time would be nice but this ain't it.

In fact, gridding itself inspires anxiety & depression in me. If I faced having to do that on any kind of a regular basis, I would probably give up stitching! What happened to just having fun and enjoying oneself, counting mistakes and all??!!
Who knew that all you needed was a little red thread? I guess for some $7.50 is cheaper than seeing a therapist!
ReplyDeleteohmygawd - this is so incredibly ridiculous!! I am so tired of so much advertising talking to the lowest common denominator! If we were all as stupid as they think how could we possibly figure out how to get the thread into the needle.
ReplyDeleteI mean really folks - we need a special product to tell us how to grid something? Find the middle of the chart, find the middle of your fabric and count! I just want to get stitching, not spend hours gridding before I can stitch.
I'm beyond speechless, especially after noticing that the price has now gone up to $9.00 (plus $2.25 S&H). Obscene!
ReplyDeleteSeriously!! I have found gridding more of a pain rather than just counting as I go. When I have had to grid something, I used plain old thread or DMC. I have even used scraps from my ort box. This is one of the first stitching tools that is not a must have in my stitching box.

ReplyDeleteI swear the first time around I thought it was fabric with the thread already in it! I didn't realise I was suposed to do all the donkey work! Saving me one third the time, BS!! I have to spend 4 hours putting in the grid! And if she can save me one third the time, she hasn't seen the size of my usual pattern. Ugh!

ReplyDeleteWow, now I know what's wrong with my life. I'm not using expensive red nylon floss. Seriously, though, the only time I ever do any sort of guidelines is to mark out sections in a round robin or to help keep me on track with a band sampler. Puh-lease.
