I know I am supposed to be working my butt off on Christmas presents. Yesterday, I read T is for Trespass. Creepy. I like how Sue Grafton ties social issues into her mysteries without making them Mysteries Tackling Social Issues. Not self-important. Just a really good story. And I love how it's still the 80s in this series.I've also been meaning to tell you that I read a couple of books just before Thanksgiving. On Tuesday, I read Fearless 14 and on Wednesday, I read Finger-Licking 15. Janet Evanovich's books crack me up. They're a delight.
I think I'm up to four books now. And only three more weeks to read the other six. And finish all my Christmas gifts. But, I will be taking a long plane journey, I may make it yet!
Wow, fast reader. I just read Fearless Fifteen and think those books are a hoot! I still have to read "T" though. It's sitting on the shelf. I joined that reading challenge too, have read six, I think, but probably only read one or two of the books I listed. Oh well, at least I'm reading, but probably won't make all ten by the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteMy mother-in-law is an Evanovich junkie. Has to have the latest book as soon as it comes out. I'll read what she has over the Christmas holidays.
ReplyDeleteI just finished listening to T is for Trespass from audible.com. I had forgotten that I had bought and read the book two years ago when it first was published. Now I'm listening to U is for Undertow. My favorite part of Grafton's writing is how she conveys a sense of place. Having lived on the California coast (admittedly further north) I always enjoy her descriptions of coastal fog, the sounds of the ocean and the scents of the beach. Her food descriptions, although hardly gourmet, can be very amusing.
I totally agree with your book comments...I have U is for Undertow started. I think the Grafton books are great. Also, Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum is one of my very favorites! Ahhhh....do I read or stitch? Such a dilemma.
ReplyDeleteI love the Stephanie Plum Series By Janet Evanovich. They are a Funny. I have not read any of the Grafton Books. Are they like the Stephanie Plum books ? ... Funny or just Mystery? I will have to check them out...
ReplyDeleteOut of my depth - haven't read anything (yet) by either author. I rely on the whims of the person at the library who orders books, LOL. I did just finish The Master Butchers Singing Club by Louise Erdrich and thought it was phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteLove the Evanovich books too. I received books 4-6 for my birthday, so I need to get to them.
