Finishing Frenzy, Picture 1

I finished this last night. I was using a scrap of cord, so I had to make it fit which accounts for why it's all scrunched up on the bottom. Still, better to have it on the tree than in the to-be-finished pile another year. Previously pictured here. Written about here. So there you have it. Ten years start to finish-finish. Perhaps I ought to be more ashamed than I am. (Here's some perspective: I stitched it in two days 11/11/99-11/13/99. D'oh.)

Since I finished this so early in the month, I'm going to call it February's finish and try to get another in...or am I flying too high on wings of pastrami?

  6. Looks great!

I have UFOs older than 10 years so clearly shame is no problem for me. Congrats on the finish- I take them anywhere and more important, any TIME I can get them!

  7. Love this ornament! congrats on the finish! I had a small piece finished into a pillow last year .. honestly I don't know when I finished stitching it, but it's on aida and was my first official piece of counted cross stitch .. It felt soo good to actually have it finished to enjoy :)

  8. I think it looks great. And I would have never noticed the scrunchiness at the bottom had you not pointed it out. Aren't we always most critical of our own work?

Only 10 years? Pffft! Try 25. (See my Feb. 1, 2009, post for evidence.)

Perhaps we could claim that, like a fine wine, some projects need to age before finishing . . . or not.

I'm with Kat. Wouldn't have noticed the scrunchiness. I think your finish is quite fabulous!

  11. All of a sudden 10 years doesn't seem so long after all. I guess the important thing is that you finally did "finish it" - not how long it took! Congratulations and I love the charm! One day I'll keep good on my promise to show you what took me so long to finish. Uh oh! But now that I think about it, though, it really isn't finished - just the stitching! Oh no, now I'm felling really lousy . . .
