1. As a comment on this post, leave one memory that you and I
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually really funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. (Even though I edited the previous paragraph, this one would require too much work. What are you going to do?)
Someday I'll have stitching I can show again (just sent the Fair and Square and secret stitching #1). Someday we'll have our computer back from the geeks so I can upload the photos.
In the meantime, I've been working on finishing secret stitching #2. You'd have thought I would have learned my lesson with my "pattern." This time, I changed the dimensions to make up for the errant inch. I started sewing the sucker...and fucked up again! Awesome! Instead of having to add strips to the two sides, I had to add them to the bottom and the sides. I think I'm going to have to drop out of Olympic Stitching and join the Special Stitching Olympics. (Is that wrong? Should I not have done that?)
I want to try to finish this project before our trip this weekend but I have a hair appointment tonight and we leave Thursday. Stupid work. It gets in the way of all my fun.
I remember hunting you down at the Stitch N Pitch last year and being sorry that I hadn't brought stitching instead of my crochet. I still love the biscornu you made.
ReplyDeleteHaving met you, there are many memories from the night, but the first thing I remember about you is your correction of what would have been improper grammer on Gianna's birthday invitation, but was a typo on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI admire you for your ability to say what you think...even to strangers!
Hmm - I don't think you should have said that - and you know it too :o) People with disabilities who are in the ParaOlympics are just as capable as everyone else - sometimes more so, as they have to overcome so many obstacles.
ReplyDeleteI have LOTS of memories of your posts through the years, Anna. ;) You're not one that's easily overlooked!

ReplyDeleteI remember when I first met you and discovered that you are a lot nicer than I had expected you to be, for some reason. My most striking memory, though, is when you told us how old you were. I couldn't believe it! You can easily pass for 10 years younger. :)
ReplyDeleteFor whatever reason, I remember most your rant about incorrect chessboard designs! And since then, every single time I see a checkerboard pattern I check to see if it's "light on right" and think of you ;)
ReplyDeleteI've got a terrible memory, but I'll go with 'Wie Hieland Coos' and say no more...
ReplyDeleteI remember the first time we met in person (which predates your blog!)
ReplyDeleteDinner at La Tomate with Best Pal, my DH, and my BIL. My BIL -- who doesn't get either snarky or feminist and who was at the time a Rush Limbaugh Republican (he's lightened up since getting married). It could've been a disaster, but you and Best Pal very graciously avoided jumping on any of the straight lines he fed you.
I still love the XS piece you stitched for Best Pal's 40th. Too cool!
