I do enjoy Lorrie Moore's short stories though.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17432778814708875811noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5709631.post-20663641805380100752009-11-09T02:54:54.701-05:002009-11-09T02:54:54.701-05:00I am a voracious reader and life wouldn't be w...I am a voracious reader and life wouldn't be worth living without my weekly visit to the library. I don't keep count of the number read in a year but last weeks tally at the library issue desk was 10 books and I'm finished with those. Thanks heaps to the teacher in Primary School who taught me to speed read. <br />Best wishes for the parents house.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08554874389968864826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5709631.post-54494489372682236602009-11-08T18:39:27.748-05:002009-11-08T18:39:27.748-05:00Yeah, I'm right there with you. Maybe I'll try to get the CD to listen to it. I'm working my way through Joanne Harris' The Girl with No Shadow for my book discussion group at the library. I only joined this fall because I had already read 3 of the 5 books.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10474597082870302887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5709631.post-70388798956298114742009-11-08T10:42:46.472-05:002009-11-08T10:42:46.472-05:00Thanks for the reply, Anna - yes, much of my readi...Thanks for the reply, Anna - yes, much of my reading has been for Uni, it kind of takes some of the fun out of it, I'm pretty envious of those who can do projects like this - could you tell? ;o)Nichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07915479560572642825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5709631.post-71753027418425640062009-11-08T04:11:57.464-05:002009-11-08T04:11:57.464-05:00Better not say I've read 142 books this year. ...Better not say I've read 142 books this year. Just finished all the Dana Stabenow books about a a private detective in Alaska. I love books that have great settings (or at least authors who can write about them in such a way that makes them feel like you are there.)Kathrynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17968531508224415029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5709631.post-2347590922253840352009-11-07T17:12:43.635-05:002009-11-07T17:12:43.635-05:00I hate to admit how little I've actually read ...I hate to admit how little I've actually read but, I've listened to a ton of books on cd. But I agree with 'mainely stitching' - one is book is better than none. My latest book is The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown which, I am told, predicts that the world will end in December 2012. Now I am wondering if it will be before or after my birthday!Carol Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10444503481095836578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5709631.post-879398863759700272009-11-07T13:24:02.374-05:002009-11-07T13:24:02.374-05:00Well, one book is better than none!Well, one book is better than none!mainely stitchinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05915498269348257624noreply@blogger.com
