Blog Hop

Jo of Serendipitous Stitching has reached 500 blog followers, and to celebrate has invited us all to a party. In a way, we all having hostessing duties.

Mine is to introduce you to Deborah from A Patchwork of Crafts and create a post dedicated to her. Deborah has been blogging for a couple of years but crafting for much longer. Like me, she's a bit of a Jill-of-all-crafts with her main focus on quilting. As a self-described hoarder who abhors waste, she's an environmentalist's dream with the amount of fabric she keeps out of the landfills. She also cross-stitches, does wood-burning (pyrography), and paints.

Deborah's a big fan of dragons, and unfortunately I don't have any of that type of stitching to share. I do, however, have these photos of some Celtic knots another of her favorite designs. (Check out the ones she has embroidered.) I stitched these some knots for Dani, from Ink Circles freebies (dated June and July 2007).

In honor of her quilting, I have a few shots of family quilts. These first two quilts pictured here were rescued in the great downsizing of my parents' house after thirty years of residency. In addition to these quilts, you can follow these links to see more: stuff we gave away; redwork quilts; and quilts from our visits to the Kutztown Folk Festival 2013, 2011, 2010, and 2008,

This is my favorite rescued quilt top.

This is a quilt I started 20-some odd years ago. It's a charm quilt. Not finding many scraps of navy fabric has held me up. (That's my story and I'm sticking with it!)

Deborah, I hope you enjoy these items from my blog. Stop in at Jo's blog to see the others involved in the 500 Followers Blog Hop.

I really enjoy reading your posts, mainly due to your descriptive ... and here I break down. I can't think of the word! I love how you take a horder (and what crafter isn't) and make her into an environmental hero! I'll have to use that the next time my husband mentions my 'stuff'.
And this is why I read every one of your posts, you always make it interesting.
I'm off to visit Deborah and Jo - two new boggers to get to know!

I love the Celtic Knots and the quilts particularly the log cabin, still my comfort zone in quilting. Thank you for the kind introduction to the world. It is fun to know how others see us, especially when they do so with such kind eyes.

And of course, I do love the Celtic work.
