2003 I wrote this--my very first post--on my dissertation director's computer while we were dog sitting in Marina del Rey. Neither my dissertation director nor the dog are still with us. And his widow sold the house. And still I write.
2004 My 154th post. I went back and read all the ones that came before. And look! I had blogging friends already, but not, apparently, the word "blogiversary."
2005 Now I know it's a blogiversary. We've moved across country and are living in my cousin's basement. I'm down there surrounded by craft supplies. But can we tell me not to take that job I'm so excited about? ;)
2006 It's true what I say, I've never been a one to keep a diary. And yet...
2007 I'm eating lots of lobster, and funnily enough, recounting the changes in blogging, bloggers, ang the technology. (I'm also up to 858 posts!)
2008 Five years! A little history (including Usain Bolt's birthday) and a giveaway. How industrious of me.
2009 Silly metaphors and a new-to-us dog help celebrate six years of blogging (and actual stitching content!)
2010 I was on vacation in Maine for my blogiversary this year and didn't post. I did do a meme on the 22nd. Funnily enough, of the books I was reading at the time, I only finished The Art of Racing in the Rain. Much later (because I finished on an airplane, so I'm thinking March?) with giant sobbing tears running down my face.
2011 Again with the skipping the blogiversary post; this time we were in the midst of a visit from two of my nephews and their parents. Instead, I give you a post that references the blogiversary giveaway from two years earlier. Two? Shouldn't that have been three?
2012 A retrospective post where I chose favorite "representative" posts from the past nine years. Still worth following those links!
If you had told me ten years ago that 2013 would find me
- still blogging
- across the country
- in our own home
- living with a dog
