Happy Birthday!

My birthday was a month ago, so I wasn't really expecting any packages addressed to me. (Well, for me anyway, since Christmas items I ordered are arriving.) A pakket from the Netherlands, whatever could it be?

Oh right, the thing from the Dutch Sisters etsy shop that the dude bought me. Look at how adorable the packaging is!

Let's get closer...Look at the sweet little gingham ornament. And the delft beads on the ribbons. (That long one is a little shoe!) Absolutely charming.

LOVE! It's a messenger style bag with a front made from a knit, possibly a sweater. The Dutch Sisters remake needlepoint, knit, and crochet items into purses. (I had planned to buy the purse with the needlepointed windmill but someone else got there first.)

The purse is very well made. Perfect, in fact. I'm totally impressed.

Ooooh, nice! You're the second person I know who's bought something from this shop. I really like what they make!

I love unusual purses but usually end up buying them for my daughter or daughter-in-law. The last one was a purse with a felted mermaid that I bought for my daughter at the Sheep & Wool Festival a few years ago. But I do believe I shall visit your Dutch site and indulge myself for a change. Thanks for the link.
