Day Something

I brought out Emerald Mermaid for the old ladies and they were impressed. They do wish, however, that I was a one-at-a-time stitcher. Almost all of them are. They're always asking if I finished the last one I was working on whenever I bring something new to stitching. Sorry, these are my spots.

Back in January of 2011, she looked like this. (But oops, she had an elbow when I showed her last November.)

Today, she has more body.

Thanks for your good wishes for the job interview. I have another interview. So I'll be spending more time prepping. I am totally ambivalent about this--it's rather far away and we're trying to decide how to manage that--but it's hard to forget that I haven't been employed full time for um, years.

I've taken out the marquoir, but between hosting Sunday dinner and the job, I'm afraid the progress won't be what we're hoping for.

She's lovely, and I completely understand the multiple works in progress. I was very ambivalent about being employed full-time, with good reason, as it turned out. My job sucks compared to keeping my own schedule, volunteering, exercising, cooking healthy, inexpensive meals, staying out of my car mostly, and dropping by the needlework shop frequently. My life now in comparison is lousy--three hours a day in heavy traffic--but it's a paycheck. So good luck in finding something more rewarding than just a paycheck. I haven't had good luck with that.

Yeah, Glenna, it's a three hour commute on the Penna Tpk. And, yeah, all those things.

She's really pretty! Hoping that the interview outcome will be what's best... consider it practice.

Great progress on the mermaid. The linen really sets her off nicely. Good luck on your interview!

I've also been working on Emerald for a few years. I was on a mission to stitch all the mermaids but have become disenchanted with all the beads.

Maybe one day I will pick her up again...

Good luck with the job. My last job was far away - ab 34 kms from home - and paid well. This one I could walk to, and lousy pay. It's a toss up. And after being unemployed for 3 years, it was time!

Not sure about you, but for me, a job means getting the bills paid but more importantly, more money for stash and stitchy things! Yay! Hope you land the job of your dreams!! I did!

The Mermaid is looking great.

Good Luck on the job front. I used to have a one hour commute on the train so it meant lots of stitching time!

I don't ever want to work full-time again, which is just as well in the current climate as there aren't any full-time jobs anyway!!
