Four Down

Last night at the stitch-in I hurried to finish this piece. {I also managed to work on the marquoir, un petit peu.} Today was the framing deadline. And I asked the possibly impossible. I want this to be a box. Of course, it's not a standard box size. And the girls at the shop weren't sure which moldings could be used to make boxes.

I picked a frame I am happy with, a shabby frame with a  sort of mushroom color. And if it's framed instead of a box (I'll find out on Tuesday) I'll just buy an easel for it. And start looking for a pattern that will fit in a box (but not for Christmas, oh no.)

Looks great! Sometimes the simplest pieces can be the most striking. BF would LOVE this piece as he loves anything to do with mermaids.

Very pretty! Can I ask who the designer is? it looks familiar as if it's someone whose work I know. My daughter is attending college in Monterey - she can see the ocean from her dorm room! - and I'd love to maybe stitch this up to make something for her.
I'm glad you have some gifts done - oops! I haven't really started yet :P

Great finish! Hopefully they can make it into a box.

I hope you get your box, but an easel would be nice too.

It's beautiful. And it reminds me to drag some of my mermaid UFOs out of hiding...

Beautiful finish! The design is lovely all in white. Looking forward to seeing the final finish.

Very pretty - either way! I could see a small dish of mermaid tears sitting beside it...

What a beautiful and elegant finish.

I hope that they can find a box for it, so your father can get his Vegas box back. ;) Either way, though, it's a really lovely finish and I'm glad to have seen it in person. Your picture doesn't do it justice, but pictures rarely do.
