Oh, goodness. There was something else I meant to say about bringing stitching to the world but it slipped my mind. Then something a commenter said brought it back. By the time I got to blogger it was gone. (Is that anything like By the time I get to Phoenix?)

Ah, yes. Here's another example of publicity gone wrong. I have only seen one mention of Frank's video/free lesson offer--in Needle in a Haystack's e-newsletter. (It's not even on their blog.) I read the blogs of several shops and none of them have it. I read a couple of general craft blogs--not there either. C'mon, it's a no-brainer to send the link to Craft:. And, although I am not one of the Facebook faithful, I haven't seen it there either. Ok, it's on the Hoffman Distributing website--but how is it getting out to the non-stitcher, the ones who don't know about Hoffman Distributing, the ones they are clearly trying to hook? (I started drafting this and before I could post, Annie Beez popped Frank up on her blog. Good for you!)

Now to the comments: The mermaid is for my mom. I'm not sure I have a thing about mermaids as much as my mother does and her little obsession makes it very easy to stitch things for her. (I am keeping this one for myself, however.)

Stella has a fan club. Who knew? Last Saturday we had a date with the animal behaviorist. Stella has a little problem with putting things in her mouth. Unfortunately most of those things are attached to me or the dude (arms, clothes, hair, feet). So we wanted to see just what would work. Stella has a whole new arsenal of toys, mostly of the chewing variety (we're keeping Kong in business). And we've got lists of things to do with her. Like I had nothing else to do. Oh, that's right! I didn't.

Aw, momma, why you tellin' everyone my business? You're embaaaaarrasssssssssssing me.

Stella is so beautiful - what a glossy coat! My girl is shedding puppies worth of undercoat right now so any photos of her wouldn't do her justice. She also is a "licky/bitey kind of dog" Madi would rather have your hand in her mouth than petting her........ good luck... Madi's 13 and still prefers a good nibble.

At least your mum appreciates your stitching, mine just sees it as more home made crap.

One thing that really bugs me (it doesn't have much to do with Frank's freebie) is when a LNS doesn't have a website. In this day and age, it doesn't make any sense to not have one. A blog would suffice. Something with the hours, products and services offered, etc. They don't have to have online ordering. There are at least 3 shops in my area that have nothing online and if they do, the information is out of date or incomplete. You would barely know they exist. And no newsletter either! How the heck do they expect any new business?

Caroline, for some reason I can't comment on your blog. But that is a lot of shedding! The worst thing about Stella is that her fur looks black on the light colored things and white on the dark things (she has flecks of white on her back and her belly is white). I've changed the vacuum bag more since we got her than I ever have. To borrow a phrase, damned dog!

Beautiful dog!

Thanks for the heads-up on the "Frank" video- I've added it to my blog and hope others will also.

Great video from Frank - yes it does need to get out there. Love the pics of the dog - yes, we're paying a small fortune to keep the dog happy, too!

Love Stella's photo! She is soooooooo pretty.

Now for a question. What did the behaviorist tell you to do about the chewing/mouthing of your clothing? Just curious. I am so hopig that my Rory will out grow his. Soon. Before I run out of underwear. :) (His favorite is to nose up the lid of the hamper and trot around with my bra!)
Oh, and he has more toys and chews than Petco! Well, almost.
LOL

OMG, that picture of Stella is TOO CUTE! I would offer up some of Phoebe's toys, but she wasn't a chewer, so I don't have anything that would last long with a ferocious chewer like Stella. We mostly have squeaky plushies around. I've heard that some dogs are just really aggressive chewers. The Kongs are supposed to be fabulous for them and it looks like you've already discovered those. As far as keeping up with the hair goes, you might try one of those rubber rug brushes. I don't know if you have the same problem with Stella's fur, but Phoebe's was longer and used to wrap itself around the vaccuum's beater bar so badly that Terry would have to cut it off of the bar. So, he brushes the fur off of the top of the carpet before vaccuuming and it has done wonders!
