Get Your Motor Running

For a person who has all her time to herself, I haven't managed much stitching. I haven't managed much of anything. I haven't been able to get myself into a schedule, even though I am trying to do the Fly Lady thing. So far I've managed 15 minutes in the study. I guess it turns out I don't like cleaning any better now than I did when I was working!

Let's see if I can find some motivation today.

The days that I have the most time to myself (which are few and far between...and even on those days, I don't have the whole day to myself) are the days I manage to get the least amount of things done.

I tried Fly Lady a few years back. Made some progress, then failed. But I must have retained some of it because every so often I get the urge to clean and purge and I go gangbusters and make a good dent in things.

Remember, you can do anything for 15 minutes! LOL - except stitch! I had to make To Do lists for myself (yes, more than one, I'm a true SHE), and then force myself to accomplish the items on the list.

Good luck with too much time on your hands, and I hope a project will grab your attention soon!

You aren't the only one that doesn't like cleaning much - me neither. But I hate a dirty cluttered house more I guess. But I am stitching at the moment and my excuse is England The EVER Unready has done it again and it has snowed and they have ground to a halt. Not that I work anyway but hey it works for me. A clean house is overrated. I like a squeaky clean toilet and spotless kitchen counters (though not with the same sponge) and I kind of enjoy vacuuming, which is good with our mountains of pet hair; other than that, housework can bite me.

Fly Lady scared me. Every time I look at my sink now, I feel guilty. I don't need that.

Beware the Fly Lady!!

The Fly Lady, well. I also tried her a couple of years ago and she has some neat ideas but somehow I always get behind very quickly because there are so many more important things than cleaning, lol.

I hate cleaning. Always have, always will. Things just get dirty again anyway!

Stitching is much more fun!

Lately one of my most productive days happened when I worked for 15 minutes, then gave myself a 15 minute reward - stitching, computer time, whatever. Set the timer tho and make it a game.

Full disclosure - it's not a game I play often enough. :D
