And the Winner is

Congratulations on 5 years!! I read your blog all the time. Sara
Sara, please e-mail me your info.

Thanks to all who read and especially those who leave comments and send me messages. At last, I've found a way to bring lurkers out of the closet! Lately I've been getting backchannel messages and I find it intriguing and delightful. I appreciate all my readers including the ones who have been with me so much of the past five years (I'm looking at you Donna Jo and Lee and Melissa) (And no doubt I've forgotten someone and made them feel bad) and the newbies and the people who haven't been with me for all five years but have gone back and read every word. You all rock!

Remind me not to set the blog to post automatically when I am away. I hate how that Superstar post came out. I really should have thanked you or told you about the trip to Maine. Instead I was all like, "me me me."

There are some good stories to share from the past four days, but my mother's computer is slow and we couldn't get a wireless signal on our computer even though she assured me my sister's been able to use her computer up there. Anyway, lots to tell but I am completely distracted by the fact we were robbed while we were gone. Which one of you bastards had a hand in that? They took mostly jewelry but fortunately I scooped up a pile of the good stuff on the way out the door Wednesday night. If only I'd taken the diamond necklace the dude gave me as a wedding gift or the ...you know myriad other pieces both sentimental and expensive. I've got to go make a list...

I am so sorry to hear of the theft ... such a violation and a loss ... it happened to one of my sisters not too long ago and she, like you, lost jewelery for the most part ... irreplaceable pieces, both for the intrinsic value and the sentimental value ...

Holy crap. Sorry about the robbers.

That is TERRIBLE! I hope they catch those lousy thieves and you're able to get your things back.

Nightmare! Sorry to hear about the theft, that really sucks :(

Sorry to hear that the return home after your trip was to discover a burglary :o(

Oh my gosh!! I'm so sad for you that you got robbed!! What is it that makes these assholes think they are entitled to what doesn't belong to them? The only consolation is that eventually they will get theirs. . .maybe not in this life, but eventually. . . It is an unfortunate lesson in teaching us to hold "stuff" with an open hand. . .make that list-you never know! Barbie

That's just awful! I remember some desperadoes stealing gas from my car, and I felt violated. I can't imagine what it must feel like to have this happen to you. I'm so sorry.

I know how you feel, I have probably had about 10 robberies. You start feeling that it is time to replace stuff anyway when it is taken. I am sorry about the meaningful jewellery though. That really sucks.

And your other post SHOULD have been all me, me, me. You deserve a moment in the limelight! 5 years is a record in my opinion.

I can't believe you were robbed! That sucks out loud. I hope you're able to retrieve or at least replace the things you lost, although I know sentimentally it will not be the same.

Robbed? How horrible.

It obviously wasn't one of us if you still have all your scissors, fabrics, and fibers.

No. Seriously. I am sorry.

Well that sucks big time. I'm so sorry to read this.

I second the sentiments of everyone above....it is a horrible violation when someone enters unwelcome and goes through your things. I'm so sorry for the jewelry you lost. I'll keep hoping that the asshat(s) is/are caught and you get what is most meaningful to you back!

Ted would say: "Robbers? That's not a good choice." I say: "They suck."

I do have to admit that although I was late to the Stitch Bitch party (in that I haven't been around five years), I did go back and read every word when I first found The Bitch. I think I was hooked right around the post about the boob ornament. Now that's good blogging! Anyway, so sorry to hear about the robbery. That sucks!!
