Tied Up in Knots

It's good to know that I'm not the only one gaining weight watching my husband eat. Barbara reminded me of the dude's (eating) feat of strength. My dad and one of his friends took us to Morton's. (You know Morton's rep for giant portions, right?) The dude ordered the following: a bowl of black bean soup, a tomato and blue cheese salad (three huge slices of cheese and a giant beefsteak tomato), a 12 oz steak, a head of broccoli--no kidding a whole head--with cheese sauce, a baked Idaho potato, and a hot chocolate cake. He ate every bite, and my dad's friend, who'd never seen the dude eat, was amazed by every forkful.

Thanks for all your comments on the framing! It's so exciting to be finishing things to hang in my house instead of giving everything away.

I have finally finished ten hours on Liz Turner Diehl's 16th C. Knot Garden. Here's what it looked like before. Back in August when I started it. How is it that I get so sidetracked? And now it looks like this:

I love the Knot Garden ... I have two of Liz Turner Diehl's gardens in my stash ... the German Garden and the Summer Garden [with the lighthouse & mermaid] ... and you have inspired me to pull at least one of them out to work on during my vacation which started today.

You know, if you charged people to watch him eat all that, I bet you would have made enough to pay for dinner. That is an incredible feat of human eating right there.

That is quite a lot of food, but I think I recall he was English? I'm with an Englishman and quite honestly I'm shocked at the human vaccum cleaner trait he has around food. Your WIP is pretty...those pieces are quite detailed, right?

What great progress ... and what a gorgeous design! I have one of her charts rattling around here ... but no, there is so much to be done before a new start!!!

Thanks, everyone, for the lovely comments.

Redwitch, I'm sad to say that it probably doesn't use that many. When I was in college I was utterly gutted to learn that studying for an hour used up the calories found in one peanut... :(

Holy cow! That's a lot of food. Amazing. He must have a hollow leg, or two. Your knot garden has progressed nicely with the past 10 hours of work.

In RE to your comment, absolutely no offense taken. I would totally help you fund that endeavor. I still look like crap two days later!
