Flip Flop Fun
I think the flip flop might have been a bit more fun to stitch if it had been on 16 ct instead of 18. I am jamming these threads into place, and I hate how the stitching looks. Mom's birthday is on Monday, so I've got to send this out on Saturday. I've finished the sand dune. I've started the palm tree, which just needs a few fronds; the clouds, which I should finish momentarily; and the sun which has about 6 more rays that need doing. Then I have the gulls and the towel to stitch. So, it's totally doable. I just need to stitch all day which makes me feel lazy when my cousin is about chasing after children, cleaning, and generally moving constantly. I feel like a slug.

Too Thick
No, I'm not too thick. I've been working on my mother's flip flop (photo soon, promise!). It's on an 18 count fabric. Mostly, I'm stitching with one strand of wildflowers and flosses of similar thickness. But I've gotten to the point where I am stitching with Thread Gatherer's linen thread Flax'n Colors. It's too much floss! You should see the back of the project; it's like I laid jute on it. At first I was crossing each ex, but the amount of floss on the back was getting ridiculous, so I started stitching Danish style. It's a shame because this design looks so nice. And I will show you soon.

We've gone wireless
Well, guys and gals, it’s the day you’ve been waiting for. The day I took my new computer to the local hotspot and actually wrote something. I still have to do some downloads—I was just so excited to be online without a phone cord that I wasted the battery with frivolous surfing. But tomorrow, I’ll have pictures again. Imagine: pictures. And regular posts. Because, you know, I have to do something besides apply for jobs. Or I will lose all faith in myself. I’ve been working on my rrs—the freebie and the Prairie Schooler. I’ve got to get to my mother’s flip flop because her birthday is coming and I’ve got to have it done. I did finally pick up all the flosses that it required; and it required some doozies: linen thread, DMC #8, Wildflowers and WDW. Fortunately, there is a needlepoint store nearby, so I have access to every thread imaginable and some I haven’t even heard of before. And I was reminded again why I don’t needlepoint. There were some cool bands for Dr. Scholl’s that you could stitch. That cost 59$. Right.
A new addition has been added to my extended family, and again, I implore people Think Before You Name. Please be sure your kid doesn’t have the same name as a car. (Think Subaru.)

Closing in...
I'm getting close to finishing the Williamsburg Doorway. I have to fill in two door panels and just a few green stitches here and there on the wreath. Then I can choose a new project! Or a new old project. I should probably concentrate on Sissy's poncho. Yes, I think I shall. At first I was going to dedicate one day a week to knitting, but now I think I should put everything aside and knit madly. So, you know, she can wear it once before ponchos go out of style forever. (Am I already too late?) Then I can pick up the two new secret starts I have made--the birth sampler for Little Teddy and the flip flop for mom.

All This Free Time
Today I finished the DT Baby Band Sampler. As soon as the dude and I buy a laptop, I'll download the photo sharing software and I'll post a couple of pictures.
I think I'll also make some headway on the *two* (of 6) rr pieces I have in my possession. I have mailed a couple a bit early, but I can't believe that more than half are currently being held hostage by slowpokes. I shouldn't complain; I've been known to be late on occasion. Besides, it gives me some time to catch up on my rotation that hasn't been touched in some time.
